Yosvany Estepe is a music theory professor, composer, and arranger. He earned his music degree in the teaching of music theory from the National School of Music (Escuela Nacional de Música, ENA) in Havana in 1998 and taught at that institution until he moved to Mexico, where he taught at the University of Guadalajara.
Using extremely practical methods and focusing on auditory training, Estepe has prepared dozens of students to enter prestigious universities, such as Berklee College of Music, University of Illinois, Instituto Superior de Arte en La Habana, Cuba, and Hochschule Osnabrück, with the majority entering above first semester level in music theory and many receiving substantial scholarships.
He has been contracted to create original compositions and arrangements in a variety of genres (including pop, choral, musical theater, and jingles, among others) and has created many materials for learning theory and sight-reading, modern harmony, and composition.
